Baby Stella | Columbus Ohio Newborn Photographer

Families, Newborn

I have been photographing Michael & Courtney’s journey for a few years now. When they called to tell me they needed to schedule a session for their pregnancy announcement I almost passed out from excitement. Michael was getting ready to deploy and they were almost positive that he would not be home in time for their baby’s arrival. We got the announcement photos done quickly so they could announce to their families that they were expecting a sweet little babe. A week later Michael started his deployment.

About a month into the deployment they found out they were expecting a little girl (called it)! A couple of more months went by and Courtney assured everyone that even though Michael was so far away their bond was strong as ever.

So many people have come to me feeling bad for me saying things like they can’t imagine their husband deploying during their first pregnancy. It’s REALLY hard to feel bad for yourself when you have a man as great as him. I never go a day feeling lonely or unconnected from him. I’m his top priority even oceans apart from one another. I’ve never witnessed a husband hold his wife in such high regard with the greatest amount of love and grace possible..and I get to say that about my own husband. I lack nothing. God’s timing is perfect and we believe in His plan for our family. Don’t feel bad for me, just pray with me that little Stella meets a man as great as her daddy one day.

And then they got the news…

Michael was coming home early. For good. He made it home two weeks before Stella made her grand entrance.
