Let’s be real – scheduling family photos can be hard when juggling work, kids, marriage, a social life and everything in between. Time slips away and before you know it your youngest kiddo is 2 years old. You finally get your photos scheduled and plan your outfits (which is a challenge in itself). You show up not knowing what to expect from your littles – will we get the sour patch kids, the photogenic kids or the kids in dire need of a nap? Helpful tip: smile no matter what. Enjoy those 45 minutes…because when you do…it shows. Let the toddler run, let them cry and pout and run away at the speed of light. Let them be clingy, clumsy, silly and loud. Let them carry around their tractor and give your photographer the stink eye. This is life right now and before you know it two more years will pass and you’re going to want it back. This is the best life.
I love meeting new families and vibing right from the start! When working with small kiddos it’s very important that you get them moving, grooving, and playing. I like to take the 45 minutes that we have together and use it for what it is – time together. This adorable family of four soaked up every single second and laughed until their cheeks hurt.
A weekend trip to New York City is just what we needed to get our creative juices flowing. Breaking free of country landscapes to embrace the hectic lifestyle was so much fun! Check out this fresh and stylish session held in Times Square.
Holly and her son, Henry, joined me for fall minis this year over at Rock Mill Bridge in Lancaster, Ohio. A rustic and vibrant location that is just stunning for not only families but engagements and seniors, too! Plus a throwback to when Henry was a squishy newborn.
