“So, how’s dad life treating you?” A question that is asked often, and usually answered in a few words with a smile attached. But Brandan’s answer was by far my favorite. He responded with something along the lines of, “It’s going great…well…sleep is non-existant…but that’ll get better…it gets better right? Right?! Tell me it gets better!”

Ahh, parenthood; the never-ending struggle of am I doing this right? A part of life that can never be mastered and if someone tells you they have mastered it – they’re lying. With each day comes a new milestone, a new battle, and a new reward. Your whole world changes the moment you look into that sweet little baby’s eyes. They look so much like yours! Will he be like you? Is he going to grow into a brave, strong, and independent young man? Will he love you as much as you love him? Of course, because you will shower him with kindness, love, and compassion – correcting his mistakes by showing him how to improve. You will grow together and develop a bond unlike any other.

It can be overwhelming, complicated, and exhausting but it is undoubtedly the most rewarding experience.
