A Park of Roses & Via Vecchia Wedding, Columbus, OH

I found my organization soul sister when we sat down with Sienna and Michael the week before their wedding. Sienna handed me a full timeline with a breakdown of all of the people they most definitely needed to have photos with on their wedding day – along with typical wedding photos (ring shots for example) that they didn’t care to have. She had spreadsheets and notes and folders. A huge part of our job is to do this ourselves so when a bride comes prepared – ya girl is ecstatic. We try our very best to keep everything flowing smoothly so that our couples don’t have to worry about things getting left out, and having these lists on top of our mental checklist is key – especially if things start running behind.

SIENNA + MICHAEL

Friends since kindergarten, Sienna and Michael, share a special kind of love that a lot of people spend a lifetime searching for. On December 26, 2017, Michael proposed to Sienna at Blue Hen Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Michael was adamant to go on our previously scheduled hike that day but I was sick and did not want to get out of bed. Wearing PJs, no makeup, and snow boots, we quickly trekked to the falls where he proposed. He wasn’t on one knee for too long because of the wintry weather, but we had the most perfect moment together in the snowy woods.” – Sienna

The Ceremony

Sienna & Michael chose to tie the knot surrounded by full trees and lush greens at Park of Roses in Columbus, Ohio. With the sun popping in and out of the clouds and the faint trickling of water from the fountain in the background, it was certainly a sublime setting for a mid-summer wedding.

“From the walk down the aisle to our first kiss, I loved every single minute of it. It was the perfect representation of us as a couple – who we are, what we like, and what’s important to us – and was something we spent months planning so it was just right. Standing up at the trellis holding Michael’s hands-on that beautiful day is something I think about often. I’ll never forget those moments.” – Sienna

The portraits

As their guests took in the beauty that surrounded them, Sienna and Michael slipped away to revel together before heading out to their next destination, Via Vecchia.

The recepetion

While the ceremony venue matched the whimsical and romantic side of this lovely duo, the traditional and family-oriented side was brought to life at Via Vecchia Winery in Columbus. Tables were placed close together throughout the entire venue to keep conversation flowing, and the dim lighting, old brick walls, and exposed wooden beams over the dance floor provided an intimate and industrial touch for this lively group.

What is one piece of advice you would give to couples planning their wedding?
“I’d encourage you and your soon-to-spouse to take 5 minutes after the ceremony to step away together. The day flies by, and you often don’t get a second or two alone. Michael and I walked outside for a few minutes during the reception to spend a few minutes together and catch up on all of the excitement. It was so neat to be able to look inside our venue from the outside to see all our family and friends who traveled to Columbus for our big day having a great time. It was such a special moment.” – Sienna
