When old friends from middle school and high school contact you to photograph their wedding it can be a whirlwind of emotion. It’s exciting, heartwarming, and a little bit nerve-racking all at the same time. I knew going in that the wedding would be stunning and different from any that I have photographed before. For starters, Courtney didn’t want your average wedding gown. She had to incorporate her own personal style (which every bride should totally do) and that meant wearing black. Yaaas girl.
One would think finding a venue to match Courtney and Tyler’s dark and moody vibe would be tricky…but they NAILED it with Graystone Wine Cellar. This wedding’s black, white, gold and vibrant fall hues complimented the intimate space in the most perfect and beautiful way. With exposed stone, cozy tunnels, and dim lighting it seemed as if the venue was made specifically for this bride and groom.
The ceremony went off without a hitch, the dog biscuits were mistaken for cookies, toasts were hilarious and emotional, dinner was delicious, and family and friends sang along during Courtney and Ty’s first dance to Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. If that doesn’t tell you how awesome this wedding was I don’t know what will 😉
Spending the evening celebrating these two finally becoming one was as amazing as everyone knew it would be. Congratulations to the newlyweds, Tyler & Courtney!
