I have been waiting for what feels like forever to photograph some families at Lynd Fruit Farm in Pataskala, Ohio! Any time I drove past the orchard I couldn’t help but admire how serene it looked and imagine how delicious the fresh apples tasted! This past fall I was finally able to bring some families into the orchard to go apple picking and photograph them doing so! Family-friendly outdoor activities have been on everyone’s list, and this one should definitely be at the top next fall! The kiddos get to run freely through the aisles of apples, pick their favorites off of the trees, and then put them in their own little grocery bag! It was a great change of pace from being cooped up in the house for both myself and the families I work with.

This particular family I have been working with for the past 3 years and I love watching them grow. They added a new little babe to their crew at the beginning of 2020. In fact, they were the first, and last, in-hospital newborn session I did in 2020! Needless to say, seeing them again after almost 9 months was so uplifting! Little miss had grown so much and big sister was falling into the role of, well, “big sister” quite nicely. Speaking of big sis…she couldn’t get enough of plucking those tasty fruits down! I am pretty positive their bag of apples had two bites taken out of each one.

When I was done shooting I too got to rummage through the trees and fill a bag for my own kids. Anytime mom brings home snacks from work is a good day, am I right?
